Bridging Elementary to Middle School Through Dual Immersion

Twain Elementary’s 5th-grade Dual Immersion (DI) students recently visited Rogers Middle School for a meaningful and exciting experience designed to ease their transition to middle school. Twain is home to the district’s current 5th-grade DI class, and these students will continue their DI journey at Rogers, where the program serves students in grades 6 through 8, supporting continued growth in bilingualism and biliteracy.

R.I.S.E. Unity in Community

We had an amazing time seeing our students participate in the district-wide R.I.S.E. (Resilience, Intelligence, Self-Determination, Excellence) Unity in Community, an afternoon filled with community, empowerment, and enrichment. Students had the exciting opportunity to learn how to step from our special guests Sigma Gamma Rho Sorority, Inc. and Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity, Inc., gaining valuable skills while connecting with positive role models.

First G.A.T.E. and High-Achieving Family Support Group Meeting: Building Community and Supporting Growth

Families of GATE and high-achieving students gathered for the first-ever Family Support Group, created in response to parents’ advocacy and expressed need for a dedicated space where families could connect, share insights, and seek guidance. Parents’ voices reached our district, and the district responded by establishing this support group as part of its ongoing commitment to nurturing each student’s unique potential.
