Meet Your Principals

Message from Principal Michael Bosler

Welcome to Mark Twain Elementary School. We look forward to working with all of our students to make this a successful and positive year of learning. It is our mission to provide high quality education that empowers students to think critically and develop skills to adapt to the ever changing world. Our school believes in teaching our students to be great citizens by implementing PBIS (Positive Behavior Intervention Support). PBIS focuses on teaching students behaviors that are appropriate at school, how to problem solve with peers, and work together collaboratively respecting each other’s opinions. Mark Twain River Rafter practice O.A.R.S! Which stands for Outstanding Attitude, Respectful, and Safe. We encourage our parents and families to stay connected and involved as parent involvement is essential for the overall success of our students and our school. Mark Twain offers various opportunities for parents to stay connected and be actively involved with the school community such as attending School Site Council meetings and ELAC meetings, a thriving Parent Teacher Association (PTA), and supporting parent volunteer opportunities. I will send out reminders to all of our special events and meetings via my weekly newsletter, our website, and ParentSquare.

Sincerely,

Michael Bosler

Leadership

Principal Michael Bosler

A native of the Coachella Valley, Mr. Bosler started his teaching career at Desert Sands Unified School District before moving to Los Angeles. In Los Angeles, Mr. Bosler worked at Culver City Middle School as a special education teacher and assistant principal before taking a position with Palos Verdes Peninsula Unified School District as the district's special education coordinator. Mr. Bosler received his bachelor's degree from the University of California, Riverside, his master's degree from UCLA's Principal Leadership Institute, and is currently in his final year of his doctorate program at the University of Southern California. He brings all of these experiences to what he describes as his dream job - being the principal of Mark Twain Elementary School!

Mr. Bosler lives in the South Bay with his wife and two daughters. In his free time, he drives the girls to dance classes, playdates, and other shenanigans. He loves watching Manchester United and Dodgers games (or anything his daughters make him see on Disney+).
